Marysville Stampede/Rodeo

The Marysville Stampede began in 1933 and is an annual event. It has long been produced by Cotton Rosser and the Flying U Rodeo Company, usually on Memorial Day weekend, at Beckwourth Riverfront Park Complex. The Rodeo features some of the nation's top rodeo cowboys. Events include Bareback Riding, Saddle Bronc Riding, Bull Riding, Steer Wrestling, Team Roping, Calf Roping, Women's Professional Rodeo Association (WPRA) Women's Barrel Racing, and Kids' Mutton Bustin' (in which kids ages 4 to 7 try to ride a sheep).

The Marysville annual Rodeo is one of the Yuba County Mounted Sheriff's Posse's fundraisers. The Posse promotes the selling of tickets for this event and provides some security for the Rodeo. As a result, we receive a portion of the ticket sales. The revenue provides for the purchase of search and rescue equipment and maintenance of the Posse Arena where rescued animals are housed on a temporary basis.
